Have you heard the term GREY (gray) DIVORCE ? The term refers to the spouses having grey hair.

I recently read that about a third of divorces are older couples, despite the fact that they would have to start a new life with all the financial costs etc. For example, even if there are no disability issues etc, most family law jurisdictions give each spouse half of all the assets, especially in a long-term marriage, so each spouse is working with half their assets, savings and pensions to start over.

I am a family law mediator. I encourage both personal counseling and couples counseling because, even if you do not reconcile with your spouse, counseling helps you mediate instead of litigating your separation.
